The Mission

In our nine years together Micah and I have never stayed in Kentucky for the holidays. We have always traveled to Oklahoma, Kansas, Pennsylvania, Maine, or New Jersey. Needless to say we are sad to not be spending the holidays with our extended families but we plan to make the 90 days between fall break and going back to school after New Years a very special time. The Idea....

For the first time ever we will be home for the holidays. We usually spend the months of Nov.Dec.&Jan. traveling cross country to be with our extended families, but we are trying to save money this year so we will be in Kentucky. It's a double edged sword knowing that on one hand this winter will be unlike any we've ever had, but even knowing that I want to stay positive and make it super special for us as a family.

If you know us you know that we are big on making traditions, so with that being said I'm going to try and really start a few new ones that we can continue as the boys get older. Here are a few of my goals for the next 90 days.

October

  • Field trip to the Pumpkin Patch

  • Camping Trip

  • Keeneland fall meet

  • Bluegrass Scenic Railroad

November

  • Fall Festival at CCC

  • Tour Ale-8-One

  • Visit the Arboretum

  • Thanksgiving at our house

  • Mommy/Daddy Getaway

December

  • Go to either the Radio City Christmas/Nutcracker

  • Winchester Christmas Parade

  • Go cut down our tree

  • Advent calendar

  • Sledding at Jacobson Pk.

I'm sure lots of extra things will work their way in and I plan to make everything we do open to all our friends, who for the next 90 days will become like family.

  1. I like this idea. Kinda similar to what Chris & I are trying to do this fall. We hope to join in during the T'giving week.
